Former Physician Faces Assault Charges Against 38 Patients
Prosecutors have stated that a former doctor has been charged with performing sexual assaults involving 38 victims who were patients.
Details of the Grave Charges
The accused, Nathaniel Spencer from Birmingham faces allegations of numerous acts of sexual assault – comprising acts against minors under the age of thirteen – spanning the period from 2017 and 2021.
A deputy chief prosecutor stated, “Legal teams have worked at length to support a detailed and complex police inquiry, carefully reviewing the evidence to determine that there is a strong case to proceed to trial and that it is in the interest of justice.”
The Investigation
These allegations come after what police called a “complex investigation” into alleged sexual offences at medical facilities: a hospital in Stoke-on-Trent and a facility in Dudley.
Spencer will appear at the North Staffordshire justice centre on 20 January.

Prosecutors outline the 45 sexual offences include:
- 15 counts of assault.
- Seventeen counts of assault by penetration.
- 9 counts of assault on a minor under thirteen.
- 3 counts of assault of a child under 13 by penetration.
- One count of attempted penetrative assault.
