American actor Finn, who featured in popular television series such as Friends, "Seinfeld" and The Middle, has succumbed at 60 years old.

The skilled improv artist passed away at his residence in Los Angeles, California recently having undergone treatment for a cancer diagnosis beginning in 2022, as reported by media reports.

"Pat Finn never met a stranger - solely future friends he hadn't encountered," his family shared in a statement.

They added that he had "experienced life to the fullest - with happiness and energy".

A Prolific TV Career

Finn's first television role was on a show starring George Wendt in 1995, where he appeared as the brother of the main character.

He subsequently landed a recurring role on Murphy Brown in the latter half of the 1990s.

He appeared as a party host named Joe Mayo in Seinfeld in the late 90s, portraying a social organizer known to delegate tedious tasks to his guests.

Throughout the end of the 90s and start of the 2000s, he made guest appearances on numerous hit series, such as:

  • "King of Queens"
  • "Friends"
  • That '70s Show
  • House

His most famous role for portraying Bill Norwood in The Middle, appearing throughout eight seasons of the show between 2011 and 2018.

His work in movies include It's Complicated (2009) and Santa Paws 2: The Santa Pups (2012).

Off-Screen Life

Beyond his acting parts, Finn was a skilled improviser and worked as a teacher at the Colorado university, where he was an adjunct professor.

He was involved with a six-person improv troupe known as "Beer Shark Mice".

"He coached, befriended and mentored numerous pupils over the years and it's nearly impossible to find someone anyplace who has an unkind word to say about him," his loved ones expressed.

Offering condolences, peer Richard Kind said there was "no kinder, gentler, funnier, authentic human being you could encounter".

"Perpetually optimistic, assisting others to improve and be funnier. A great dad, a great guy," he shared online.

Pat Finn is remembered by his partner Donna, his three kids, and his mother, father, and brothers/sisters.
