Soccer Expert Chris Sutton Takes On Artist Murs in Premier League Forecasts

The Gunners' ten-match winning run came to an end by Sunderland before the international hiatus, however will the Premier League leaders bounce back against local foes Tottenham this weekend?

"{I feel like Arsenal are miles ahead of Tottenham at the moment but Spurs manager Thomas Frank will have a strategy for this match," remarked soccer specialist Chris Sutton.

"The Spurs manager will attempt to neutralize Arsenal, who have not always been at their sparkling best this campaign - but Mikel Arteta's team typically still find a way to win."

Sutton is making predictions for all 380 Premier League games this season, versus artificial intelligence, fans and a variety of guests.

In the twelfth round, he faces performer Olly Murs, who is a Manchester United supporter.

The singer's latest record, Knees Up, is available on Friday.

Football and Family Life

Olly is a skilled footballer as well as a accomplished artist and has been a featured player of several charity football matches down the years - but he is not planning a serious return as a player.

"{I recently played in a charity game the other evening for a friend of mine," he said. "The side was trailing 3-1 when I was substituted in the second half, and they went on to win 4-3, so you can interpret that what you want!

"I still love football, but I injured my knee a few years ago and it even now isn't where I want it to be. I wish I could play more but the uncertainty of the game means it's too dangerous for me in my profession to do it properly again.

"Plus I am 41 now, and we are not everyone is Cristiano Ronaldo, are we!? No, I am very happy not playing football and I am preparing for the moment that my daughter or boy decides to play instead."

Murs and his wife Amelia Tank have a young family, their daughter and Albert, and he is ready to follow in his father's footsteps by taking on the role of their manager.

"I won't push football on our children but I've already told Amelia that if they happen to get the passion for it then I will have to go and get my manager qualifications - and I will probably be coaching their Saturday soccer team," he said.

"I watched my relatives play a lot, and I really got into it, and I obviously was involved with a soccer team for a period too.

"My father coached with us when I was a child, which is probably where I get it from. He managed our team for several years and had great fun with it. That could be the next step for me as well, and I am looking forward to it!"

  • Turf Moor, 12:30 GMT

The Blues might have to be patient for Cole Palmer's return from injury but their attack is already stronger with Joao Pedro and Liam Delap both returned to fitness.

I still think this fixture will be quite tight, however. The Clarets are well organised and their only home losses so far have been against the Reds and Arsenal.

This smells of a 1-1 tie to me, but I am actually going to choose Chelsea to edge it for what would be their third league win in a row.

Sutton's prediction: 1-2

Olly's prediction: The Blues will be too strong. 1-3

Artificial intelligence's prediction: 0-2

  • Vitality Stadium, 15:00 GMT

The Cherries have lost their previous couple matches - albeit both of them were on the road - but they got absolutely spanked by Villa last time out which surprised me.

In contrast, the Hammers won two in a row before the hiatus and, although both of those fixtures were at their stadium, they do look strong again.

The Hammers' sole away victory this campaign came at Forest in the summer, when West Ham boss Nuno was still Forest coach.

Therefore, what on earth do I go with here - can the Hammers extending their streak under Nuno, or the home side bouncing back?

I am going to choose the Cherries, because I believe what happened against Aston Villa was a anomaly.

The pundit's forecast: 2-0

Olly's outlook: The home team are doing well but West Ham have improved under their boss. 2-2

The algorithm's pick: 1-1

  • Amex Stadium, 15:00 GMT

Brentford were seen as one of the frontrunners for relegation before the campaign started, but they have impressed a several people under Keith Andrews and are in good form with three wins in their last four matches.

My son told me to get Bees forward Thiago in my fantasy soccer squad a few weeks back and, unfortunately, I ignored the advice.

Thiago will likely score again on the weekend but I am nonetheless not going to select him or support Brentford at Amex Stadium.

They have not had great fortune on the road this term, and Brighton are always strong at home. The visitors will attempt to attack on the counter-attack but I feel Fabian Hurzeler's team carry much more of a threat.

The analyst's forecast: 2-1

The singer's prediction: This could be one of those games where you think there is going to be a many scores but it in reality proves to be rather close. 1-1

The computer's prediction: 2-1

  • Craven Cottage, 15:00 GMT

This is a massive game for Fulham, who have suffered defeat in five of their past six games.

Fulham have have plenty of talent in their squad but it nonetheless seems like they could be dragged into a relegation battle.

Regarding Sunderland, well they are the surprise package of the Premier League campaign so far.

The away side's display in the two-all tie with the Gunners last time out was excellent. We have not witnessed anyone else rough up the Gunners like that this season, and they were fully competitive for them.

The logical choice would be to support the Black Cats here, because they are obviously able of disrupting Fulham up too and, the previous occasion they were in west London, they beat Chelsea at the end of last month.

However I am not choose that. Instead, I truly need to carry on opposing the away team with my forecasts. I am taking a lot of credit for their good outcomes because they clearly enjoy to defy my predictions.

Looking at the home side's at Craven Cottage record, the sole side they have lost to is the league leaders. Their manager's team will be extremely eager for a good result, so I am going to say they will secure three points.

Sutton's forecast: 1-0

Olly's prediction: I know the visitors are performing strongly and additionally that Fulham are on a poor streak... but Fulham have still been decent at home this season. 2-0

AI's outlook: 2-0

  • Anfield, 15:00 GMT

It is a tough fixture to predict. Liverpool have lost seven of their past 10 matches in every tournament, but might they be among the sides who profit from the {international break|
