Triple National Basketball Association MVP Jokic endured a "devastating" injury to his knee as the Nuggets were defeated by a score of 147-123 at the Heat.

The Serbian center injured himself in the latter stages of the opening half in an accidental coming together with fellow Nugget Spencer Jones.

Jones landed on the footwear of the big man, who immediately fell to the ground holding his leg.

The veteran player, that tops the NBA this season in boards and dimes, had 21 points and eight assists in the game before sustaining the problem.

He will undergo an MRI on the following day to determine the extent of the problem.

"Instantly, Jokic realized he was hurt," stated Nuggets coach Adelman.

"This is part of the NBA. Any player who is injured, that's difficult, particularly somebody as talented as Jokic. More information will come tomorrow."

"We'll move on together. Of course, at this moment, I am more worried just about Jokic as a person and the frustration of experiencing a situation of that nature."
